Every school is a complex system built on multiple types of resources working together. From the building itself to the teachers inside it, from the textbooks on desks to the funds that keep everything running – each resource plays a specific role in making education effective. Understanding these different types of teaching-learning resources helps educators, administrators, and policymakers make informed decisions about where to invest and how to improve the quality of schooling.

What are teaching-learning resources?

Teaching-learning resources (TLRs) refer to all the inputs – physical, human, material, and financial – that support the process of teaching and learning in a school. These are not just “nice-to-haves.” They are the essential building blocks that determine whether a school can deliver quality education. Physical resources are the tangible structures and spaces that form the foundation of any school.
